Maybe move the onis from the overlay to the website itself? The chat panel already has the info for who's connected (I don't think grabbing a list of watchers is a good idea, esp. since you don't need an account to watch), so we could just work with that data. If implemented in the overlay itself, it would mean having to open a no-op IRC connection just to figure out who's online at the moment.
